Quick Style & Grooming Tips

For many men, a quick shower and shave seem like all that is needed when it comes to grooming and looking good. However, what some men do not realise is that the male grooming market is growing exponentially and now offers almost every grooming practice that women do. Women now expect every man to be grooming-conscious.

Here are some quick tips that will always keep you looking your best.

Showering:

There's no excuse about it, you must shower once a day. Also shower before you go out and after a workout. Shampoo, soap, towel and water use them all.

Nails:

First make sure you have a decent nail clipper and nail brush. Trim only the tips of your nails not the side so they look square. Clean your nails with a nail brush so that there is no dirt in your nails. Finally if your nails have rough edges, use a nail file. Nails grow back very quickly so make sure you trim them regularly.

Face:

The 'clean shave' look is best especially if following the clean cut, 'preppy look' but you may want to embrace the ''designer stubble'' look to make yourself look more causal and express your overt masculinity. As a general rule don't grow any facial hair longer then designer stubble length as the majority of women strongly dislike beards. After you shave it is advised to apply moisturiser every now and then to keep your face soft and smooth.

Body hair:

Wash and condition your hair every day or at least every other day. Set aside one day a week, preferably at the weekend where you'll have more time, to trim body hair like your ears and nose (if you have any hair there). Also if you have a mono-brow/uni-brow make sure you PLUCK it, shaving will cause it to grow back quicker and thicker.

Lips:

Women do not want to be kissing chapped lips. You do not need to apply lip balm often, just enough so you don't have dry lips. Don't put too much on because it will look like lip-gloss and if you don’t want to do it in public because of it's unmanliness, do it in the toilet or in a private place.

Shoes:

People tend to look at shoes right away, especially women so make sure they are your shoes are always clean and polished. Tattered shoes give off the message of some one who doesn't care about fashion or doesn't have money to care. A pair of brown loafers or deck shoes will go with almost any outfit and will follow the Preppy, wealth look with discussed earlier.

Belts:

It is basic fashion knowledge to know that the colour of the belt you are wearing should ALWAYS match the colour of your shoes.
